How This Site Works |
By registering with Tabby Tracker, you will be registering your cat's vital information, such as name, breed, color, and postal code. If your cat is ever lost, the person who has found your cat will be able to locate you based on the postal code in which the cat was found. Don't worry; Tabby Tracker takes into consideration surrounding postal codes when notifying cat owners that their lost cat might have been found. Tabby Tracker does not use the information gathered during registration for any purpose other than helping Lost Cats find their homes. For more information read our Privacy Policy. Read below for an example of how the web site helps to find lost cats.

A cat registered with Tabby Tracker wanders off and doesn't return for days.
A few blocks away, a kind family brings the cat into their home because they realize he's lost.
The caring family does not recognize the cat and does not know to whom he belongs.
The family is smart and visits TabbyTracker.com to see if they can locate the owner of the cat.
The family submits a search for a White cat in the postal code 77065.
The family quickly learns that there are 3 registered cats in their area: Sandy, Whiskers, and Dandy. The lost cat and Dandy are both white, the cat might be Dandy!.
The family uses Tabby Tracker to contact all three cat owners in the area just to make sure they find the right owner of the lost cat.
The family enters their name, email, and phone number into Tabby Tracker and Tabby Tracker takes care of contacting the registered owners.
An hour later, the phone rings and the worried owner of Dandy is asking about his lost cat.
Dandy's owner arrives at the family's residence 5 minutes later to bring his beloved companion home.

Adding your Lost Cat to Tabby Tracker allows others to find that you are the owner of the lost cat they have found. The idea is simple, but we took it a step further to make sure that owners and "Finders" can find each other. If your cat is posted as a Lost Cat, all "Finders" who have posted a found cat matching your cat's postal code area will be notified of the new Lost Cat. Also, anyone posting a Found Cat that matches your lost cat's details will be notified that there are already Lost Cats matching the description of the cat he found. Read the scenario below for more information.

It doesn't take long before the owner realizes that his cat is missing.
The owner knows that his curious cat could be long gone by now.
The owner spends hours looking for his beloved pet but returns home broken hearted.
The quick-thinking owner posts his cat as "Lost" on Tabby Tracker.
Simply entering the cat's name, breed, color, and postal code allows the world to know that Sasha is missing.
About the same time, a kind family has picked up Sasha while she wandered the streets about a mile away from home. Sashing was having the time of her life while his owner was worried sick.
The family decides to take the cat home and look for the owner. The smart family uses Tabby Tracker to post a "Found Cat" listing. Upon submitting her description, they are informed that a cat named Sasha is lost in their area.
The family uses Tabby Tracker to contact the worried owner.
The owner calls the caring family and arranges to pick up his curious traveler.

Tabby Tracker allows owners of Lost Cats to post the value of their reward on their Lost Cat listing. Tabby Tracker does not guarantee this reward and does not facilitate the payment of the owner's reward. Tabby Tracker does charge a 10% fee for adding this reward to a listing to help attract only serious owners to post a reward for their cat. In exchange for their offering of a reward, Tabby Tracker also lists the cats with rewards on the top of the listings. Listings with reward offers also remain on the site longer than the standard free listing. For each $1 in the reward amount, the listing is good for 1 day. So, a $100 reward allows the listing to stay on the site for 100 days. This scale helps to prevent abuse of the reward system. Again, the owner rewards are paid by the Lost cat owners and not by Tabby Tracker.
